Wayne Hemingway encourages young designers to experiment with fashion
Young fashion designers from across the North East have created a unique fashion show with clothing completely inspired by the market towns
of Northumberland.
The designs of the 25 young fashion designers, aged 14-25yrs, including stunning flowing dresses inspired by the beach at Seahouses, a black spiky ballgown inspired by the mining heritage of Amble and an enormous hand woven wicker dress inspired by Alnwick Gardens, are being launched at a special fashion show at The Biscuit Factory on Saturday 16th May.
"The idea of giving aspiring designers a chance, mentoring and a shop window is just what the North East needs if it is to nurture a creative environment at a time when Britain is looking to its creative young people and budding entrepreneurs to help us through the economic downturn,”

Drawing from the landscape and architecture of the market towns of Northumberland, the young designers have created very high quality
designs.
Jodie Brady, whose innovative and quirky lingerie designs led her to winone of the HemingwayDesign mentoring places, has just been accepted to study
at the London College of Fashion and will undoubtedly be a designer to watch in the future.
“We are committed to creating positive art and design experiences for young
people in Northumberland by engaging with artists and designers of international
standing,” “Working with Wayne Hemingway has been inspirational. Experiments in Fashion demonstrates the enormous talent we have in the region and this is being celebrated through the exhibition and events at The Biscuit Factory."
